Aluminum panels (Audi, BMW, Tesla, F-150 since 2015) bill at roughly 1.4× the steel matrix — typically $175–$420 — because the workflow shifts to glue-pull and the panel needs slower heat ramp to avoid creasing. PDR doesn't — it preserves the factory paint and leaves zero record. Repainting the panel does: dealer trade-in tools deduct $300–$800 per repainted panel because the paint match is rarely perfect and a buyer's blacklight check shows the work. The single highest-leverage thing you can do for resale on a fresh ding is fix it paintless within a few weeks of impact.
